We start our “not like all the other walking tours” experience at the magnificent Karlskirche, in the heart of Vienna. You will learn how to use a vintage Polaroid camera from the 1990s at the start of the tour.

Your local photo guide will help you create your own unique photo souvenirs!

While exploring the inner city, you’ll see some of Vienna’s famous sights but also a few things that might surprise you.

During your analog photo adventure in the inner city of Vienna you will discover:
  • the Ringstraße boulevard with the iconic red trams and many important buildings like the
  • Vienna State Opera, which you will get an aerial view on, the
  • former Habsburg Imperial Palace, including the
  • magnificent Volksgarten and
  • Burggarten, as well as the marvellous
  • Austrian Parliament Building, the
  • impressive Vienna City Hall and the
  • picturesque Votivkirche.

  • Cut-Off Times: Tours can be booked online up until 12 hrs. prior the scheduled departure time. If a date has existing bookings it can be be booked up until 4 hours to the departure.
  • Short-Term Inquiries: If you like to join a tour within 12 hrs. to the departure just drop us a line. We try to make it happen: vienna@instant.tours
  • Private Tours: You want to book a tour but cannot find a suitable date? Inquire via e-mail and we will try scheduling one.
  • Season: This tour does not run during the winter season (November – February). If you are interested in taking a tour in Vienna with us during that time, please check out our seasonal Winter Classic tour.

We have planned a great tour for you. Exploring the Vienna’s inner city you’ll see and experience the following:

You start your walking tour at the baroque Karlskirche in the heart of Vienna.
  • After the introduction we head over to the Jugendstil Otto-Wagner Pavilion.
    • Your first shot: Frame the Karlskirche in the reflection of one of the pavilions windows!
  • Next we walk over to the Ringstraße. Located around this boulevard are some of Vienna’s most important sights.
  • We beginn at the famous Vienna State Opera. Ask your guide about the pink bunny!
  • Two of Vienna’s culinary highlights are on our way to the Albertina museum:
  • Café Sacher, birthplace of the renowned chocolate cake, and
  • Bitzinger, one of the city’s best sausage stands.
  • We enter the former Habsburg Imperial Palace, the Hofburg through the emperor’s garden, the Burggarten.
  • Continuing your adventure you cross the Heldenplatz,
  • on your way to the marvellous Volksgarten.
  • The popular park and garden is home to a great showcase of all kinds of roses and a greek style temple that hosts yearly changing modern art exhibits.
  • Crossing the ring you get a chance to snap a picture of one of Vienna’s iconic red trams, before you climb the ramp of the Austrian Parliament Building.
  • Next you will visit the castle like City Hall with its spacious park. There’s always some interesting event or festivity happening in front of it.
  • After a short stop at the of “The Third Man” fame Mölker Steig,
  • you will glance at our final destination, the neo-Gothic Votivkirche.
Can you believe it? This was just a small taste of what you will get to see, learn and capture with your Polaroid camera on your Classic tour through Vienna.

  • No-Camera Ticket does not include a rental camera nor the instant film. Perfect for someone who wants to use their own camera or accompany someone on the tour

The tour is operated in English. However all tour guides speak German as well.

Your guide is a Viennese local who is happy to answer questions you have about Vienna, recommend places to eat, give tips on what to see and where to go and much more. But please be aware of the fact that your guide is not a professional tourist guide. Therefore we do not provide oral historical information and context.

  • The No-Camera Ticket does not include a rental camera nor the instant film.
  • Gratuities (optional)

Cancellation & Refund

  • Cancellations: If you have to change or cancel a tour please let us know as soon as possible. Just write an email to booking@instant.tours. Within 48 hours prior your booked tours departure, we will refund you with the total amount paid.
  • Short-term cancellations (less than 48 hours before the tour’s departure): We will try to reschedule the tour with you. If we aren’t able to do so, a short-term cancellation will result in full payment of the agreed tour price for the scheduled time.
  • No-Shows: Please arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes prior the tour to ensure that we can start in time. If you do not show at the meeting point within 15 minutes after the scheduled departure of your tour we consider you a no-show. This means that you might not be able to join the tour and no refund will be given. If you already know that you might not be on time, please contract us via e-mail or call your local tour host.
  • Changes: If you want to change the date and/or time of your trip you must contact us as soon as possible in writing at booking@instant.tours. We will try to reschedule your trip with you, although we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to do this, as changes are subject to availability at the time.
  • Bad Weather: In most cases we meet you at the meeting point. There we will discuss our options, which are: rescheduling the tour, cancelling and refunding or running it anyway. In rare cases we cancel the tour beforehand by informing you via email and/or phone. If the tour you booked got cancelled due to bad weather we will try to reschedule it. In case the suggested options are not viable for you we will give you full refund.

We meet in front of St. Charles’ Church (Karlskirche). This is where you’ll meet your guide (having a Polaroid camera around his or her neck).

Ending Point

Ending Point Vienna Classic Votivkirche

Your tour ends close to Votivkirche (Votiv Church) and the Schottentor. There, we will review your pictures, answer your questions about what to do in Vienna, recommend places to eat and give tips on what to see and where to go.
